Rauf Siddiqui Order to Immediate Crack Down against Illegal Hydrants and Water connections at SITE

Karachi (19.Dec.2011):  (PRO SITE) Provincial Minister for Commerce and Industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui order to immediate crack down against illegal hydrants and water connections at SITE area. He warns to concern officer to take immediate action for cutting illegal water connections in the whole area which damaged SITE’s infrastructure badly.

On the occasion of surprise visit of SITE area to inspection the cleanliness of area he shows anger on the garbages throwing in front of factories. SITE Ltd Issued Legal Notices for Cancellation of 8 Plots of KESC

Karachi (17.Dec.2011):  (PRO SITE) SITE Ltd issued legal notices for the cancellation of 8 Plots of KESC in the jurisdiction of SITE Ltd on the non payment of more than 100 million rupees Dues, that notices issued against KESC on account of the violation of SITE’s lease clause 2 (2). SITE Ltd directed to KESC for clear that Dues with in a week otherwise lease of that Plots will be cancel according to the lease and license agreement.

In the legal notice SITE Ltd claim that KESC owes Rs. 70.62 millions on Rent, Water, Conservancy and Surcharges as well as millions of Rupees is on KESC in the respect of Road Cuttings and Infrastructure Damages. Court Issued summon to Chief Secretary on Rauf Siddiqui’s Petition

Karachi (10.Dec.2011):  (PRO SITE) Additional District and Session court South has issued summon (show cause notice) to the Chief Secretary Sindh on the petition of Provincial Minister of Commerce and Industry Sindh Mr. Rauf Siddiqui against Zulfiqar Mirza for delivering blasphemous remarks on his press conference on 9 October 2011. Court also ordered to additional Chief Secretary to personally appear in next hearing for explanation of non-implementation on court orders. Court also instructed to a private TV Channel to provide CD of Zulfiqar Mirza’s press conference which was mention in the case.

Rauf Siddiqui dispatch application to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for Sou Moto

Karachi (30.Nov.2011):  (PRO SITE) Sindh Minister for Industries Rauf Siddiqui has dispatched an application requesting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo moto notice of the non-registration of an FIR against former Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza for using derogatory remarks against the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

He informed the CJP that he moved the court for the registration of a case against Mirza, but despite the lapse of one-and-a-half months, no action was taken in this regard. The matter, he said, was also taken to lower courts but every time fresh dates were given, which proved that directly or indirectly the matter was being influenced by certain quarters.

Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said that the lower courts might have been pressurized. He said I want justice from the court if Zulfiqar Mirza had made derogatory remarks against the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) so way don’t police are avoiding to register FIR against him Although Zulfiqar Mirza him self accepting on several media channels or print media that he is a criminal, murderer and all type of bad characters and he is using derogatory remarks continuously no one should allow to play with religious matters he requested the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice against Mirza for using sacrilegious remarks during a press conference in Lyari & I am now very satisfied because high approach largest judiciary for launch my case and I hope you will take your kind and serious notice in this case.

Rauf Siddiqui seeks British PM & Govt action against Mirza.

Karachi (20.Nov.2011):  (PRO SITE) KARACHI: Sindh Commerce Minister Rauf Siddiqui has written a letter to British Prime Minister and Foreign and interior Ministers asking British government to keep check on suspicious activities of former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza in London.

According to the statement issued here by Rauf Siddiqui, he wrote in a letter that if violence erupted in Karachi or any other part of the Sindh then Zulfiqar Mirza would be held responsible.

Rauf Siddiqui said that Zulfiqar Mirza as Home Minister had been involved in various criminal activities including kidnapping for ransom, extra judicial killings and safeguarding dacoits.

Karachi (15.Nov.2011):  (PRO SITE) Provincial Minister for Commerce & Industries Mr Rauf Siddiqui said Zulfiqar Mirza made  derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on air at Media which is recorded evidence against him, if I have to pursue this petition Hundred years, I will, and I never give-up, I m ready to struggle for a century to lodge a case against him because it is my religious responsibility, I want justice with courts and I will attend every hearing personally. 

In an statement release from  Mr. Rauf Siddiqui office Provincial Minister for Commerce & Industries  said that I am 100 percent sure that Zulfiqar Mirza is guilty of blasphemy , if Mirza doesn’t  guilty in this case then why he go for Repentance at  Jamia Banoria and met with Mufti Muhammad Naeem?, nobody can not forgive “Gustakh e Rasool” at all. He Said this case should be a amused so that in future anybody hold their language and mind during the speaking in the respect of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 

Moreover A session’s court reserved its judgment till November 25 in a case pertaining to registration of an FIR against former provincial Minister Zulfiqar Mirza for making derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ), South, Abdul Razzak, reserved the judgment on after hearing arguments from both sides for and against the registration of an FIR against Zulfiqar Mirza for making sacrilegious remarks.

Provincial Minsiter for Industries Rauf Siddiqui filed a petition seeking the registration of an FIR against Mirza for using blasphemous remarks at his press conference on October 9.

At the last hearing, the SHO, Kalakot, submitted that the press conference by Mirza did not contain any offensive remarks. The SHO submitted the statements of 39 people, including Ulema, also did not establish that Mirza made offensive remarks.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the ADSJ reserved the ruling till November 25. Rauf Siddiqui filed an application under Section 22-A of the CrPC in the court, praying to it to register an FIR against Zulfiqar Mirza for using sacrilegious remarks during his press conference.

Speaking with the Media at City Court after the hearing Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said I need I will pursue this petition in High Court and Supreme Court also.

SITE Issued final notices against illegal construction at Industrial Lands.

Karachi (5.Nov.2011):  (PRO SITE) SITE Ltd issued final notices against illegal constructions at SITE Karachi, Superhighway, Hyderabad, Sukker, Nawabshah, Kotri and all estates of SITE Ltd. Provincial Minister for Commerce and Industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui order to crackdown against illegal construction, he said those allotties who made illegal construction at industrial land without any NOC including commercial allotties may regularizes these illegal construction in legal way within 15 days, otherwise stern action would be taken against them, those construction will abolish and leas of these allotments will cancel after the due date. Meanwhile SITE Ltd Authorities said SITE offices, legal section, accounts section and drawing branch will open 9am to 7pm for the regularization of constructions and approval of drawings.

Blasphemy case against Mirza: SHO’s comments sought

Karachi (5.Nov.2011):  (PRO SITE) The additional district and sessions judge (South) has directed the Kalakot station house officer to file his comments by November 11 on the alleged blasphemous remarks uttered by a former home minister.

ADJ (South) Abdul Razzak issued this directive on Friday on a petition filed by Sindh Minister for Industries Rauf Siddiqui saying that 15 days had passed but the SHO had not yet submitted a report to the court in a case pertaining to the alleged blasphemous remarks made by former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza.

In his petition filed under Section 22-A, the minister for industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui prayed to the court to direct the SHO to submit a report as had already been ordered by the judge.

Later, talking to the media outside the court, Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said that if the SHO failed to submit the report on the next date of hearing, he would file a contempt of court application against the police officer.

He had earlier filed a petition seeking the registration of a first information report (FIR) against Zulfiqar Mirza for allegedly using blasphemous remarks during a press conference in Lyari.

Karachi (18.Oct.2011): (PRO SITE) Ministry for Commerce and Industry Sindh announce to establish cricket, football and women hockey teams in all concern departments. Commerce Minister Mr. Rauf Siddiqui instructed to constitute a sports panel under the presiding of MNA and President of Pakistan Women Hockey Federation Khush Bakht Shujaat. He ordered to all concern officers to take advice from Khush Bakht Shujaat in the sports affairs of Commerce Ministry. This panel will finalized the selection of players and teams.

MNA and President of Pakistan Women Hockey Federation Khush Bakht Shujaat, players of women hockey team and concern officials of Sindh Women Hockey Federation met with Mr. Rauf Siddiqui in his SITE Office on that occasion Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said we have lot of talent in our youth, we should obelize and facilitate them according to the modern era need, if we can get positive results from them we should facilitate and provide them all necessary equipment for training. Karachi (11-Oct-2011) : (PRO SITE) SITE Authority rejects all allegation of EX-Provincial minister Mr. Zulfiqar Mirza. Spokesman of SITE Ltd denied all allegations and clearified that SITE Ltd is a independent body which is working under the Authority of Board of Directors, industrialist and some government officials are also include in Board. SITE Authorities haven’t gave 9 crore rupees to anybody for the wall boundary project at SITE Superhighway, Industrialist of SITE Superhighway are collecting funds themselves for that project. Allegation of giving 9 crore rupees to the brother of ADC to Governor Mr. Kashif is ridiculous. Spokesman of SITE Ltd said as per as concern allegation of 3 crore rupees payment SITE Ltd is clearifying that payment have been given for the drainage system of SITE Nawabshah and all the payment have been delivered after the completion of all legal formalities, the 3 acre land at SITE Hyderabad at Deh-Ganjutakkar was allocated to SITE Ltd on 5 lac rupees per acre. All the payment of that land has been given lump sum and the possession of that land had been delivered to SITE Ltd in the year 2007. SITE Authority release tender transparently for development work after receiving the possession of that land and after fulfill the all legal formalities the work awarded to several companies, when contractors and officials reached on that land for the development work the land grabbers of Sikandar Jatoi group had torchered the staff and consultants, they damaged the machinery also, and threaten to the SITE officials and consultants to avoid coming on that land for development works. SITE Authority tried many times to release that land from land grabbers and mean while intimation letters of land grabbing and threatening of the Mafia had been sent to RPO Hyderabad and heads of the law enforcement Agencies. Spokesman of SITE Ltd said the construction work of different routes at SITE Karachi have been already completed many years ago. SITE Board of Directors have constituted different committee and a works committee to monitor the roads construction, both of committees has verified that work and shows satisfaction on it. After the verification of industrialists the payment of that work has been delivered. As well as the allegation of illegal posting the clearification is necessary here that all the posting are according to the merit in SITE and daily wages employees are regularized on their post after the recommendation of Board of Directors. Following the Supreme Court’s order the work of throwing industrial garbage from SITE Karachi has awarded to a company with the suggestion of industrialists, Mezan Bank constructed SITE’s dispensary from their contractors on humanitarian grounds. SITE Ltd haven’t gave any payment in this purpose, work of Hyderabad filter plant would be completed soon and this is totally wrong that the contract of the construction of effulent treatment plant have been given to a Board member, Actually this contract has awarded to a company which is affiliated with Turkish firm and this contract was also awarded according to the law and fulfilling all legal formalities.

Spokesman of SITE Ltd strongly condemned all allegation of Mr. Zulfiqar Mirza and said if He has any evidence he should to go in courts with his ridiculous blames, He should to avoid fake allegation on a very important department of provincial government, Actually Mr. Zulfiqar Mirza wants to gain political benefit from blame game and He is trying to destroy the image of SITE Ltd from his fake allegations.

Karachi (08-Oct-2011) : (PRO SITE) Minister for Commerce & Industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui sent Six Truck of Relief Goods for the flood victims of interior SIndh and announce to donate his three month salary for the flood affected people.

His was talking with the media. On that occasion Mr Rauf Siddiqui said we must help our brothers & sisters in the view of flood situation at our soil, we should look forward to forget our differences, millions of peoples especially childrens are suffering due from the disaster of flood.

He said two thousand Bags of Foods Including Rice, Floor, Pulses, Dry Milk and other Items are included in this relief package as well as dresses, medicines, cooking oil and separate hundred bags of relief foods are also attached in this package which will distribute on the way. Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said we organized doctors and medical teams to send them in affected areas where teams will establish their medical camps, we want to continue this relief packages as much as we can. He appreciate the work of social welfare organizations specially the play of KKF. He also special thanks to Saudi ambassador and Counselor Journal and Saudi Government for help of flood victims.

Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said there is no need of politics at least in this critical situation we should move forward together for the permanently rehabilitation of affected brothers and sisters, he appeal to the industrialists, traders and other to come forward and help flood victims.

Karachi (07-Oct-2011) : (PRO SITE) Mr. Rauf Siddiqui resume  his responsibilities as Sindh minister for Commerce and Industries. He reached his SITE’s Office and hoisted  national flag on his vehicle  on Thursday after the announcement of MQM to joining provincial and Federal Governments.

On the  complaint  of employees   Mr. Rauf Siddiqui expressed deep concern  on delaying of salaries and close of  medical facilities since three months . He issued  orders  to immediately release salaries of the staff and clear all the dues of panel  hospitals.  Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said that we will not halt or suspend  the medical facilities of our employees at all.

            Mr. Rauf Siddiqui announced  that  Rs.  2 Millions from Sindh Small Industries and SITE Ltd and a day’s wages  of  all departments of  the ministry will be donated to flood victims  , He advised that doctors and medical teams  be organized  and sent to flood-hit areas , Mr. Rauf Siddiqui gave orders to employees and concern engineers to   improve recovery of  dues and carry out their duties with integrity and warned them that no one in the department will be allowed to get involved in corruption.  He give directives to begun spray campaign against  Dengue virus at industrial areas of province  and site-wide residential colonies. He ordered to concern Authorities to take stern action against land grabbers and encroachment Mafia. Mr. Ayaz Soomro said some industrialists brought up the fact that influential persons are eating into government Industrial Land and have erecting encroachment in Industrial zone without any fear, but we as a government want to warn them that we will protect our every single inch Industrial Land and encroachment will remove within a week.

Presiding a meeting in his SITE office Karachi he gave assurance to industrialists that Sindh Government will provide them every possible protection and facilities for the progress and prosperity of “Sindh Dharti”,. Our coming youth future is related with Industrial land and we want to make our youth as self-sufficient and self-independent, We will never destroy our youth future. He said Mr. Ayaz Soomro said if necessary, the police and other concern forces can also be-called for the removal of encroachment from industrial land. He warned that those industrial lands and plots which provided to the industrialist for establishing production units, will never let encroachment on that land.

No private purchase of stationery in departments of Sindh government:Ayaz Soomro

Karachi (27-Jul-2011) : ( PRO SITE ) Sindh Minister for Law, Industries and Trade Mr. Ayaz Soomro while visiting Sindh Printing Press on Wednesday said all departments of Sindh should not purchase any stationery privately whereas the printing should also be done only in the Sindh Printing Press.
He said letters have been delivered to the concerned departments stating the aforementioned directives. No funds will be granted from now on for this purpose,Mr. Ayaz Soomro also said.

He said strict actions according to the law will be taken against the ones who do not abide by the directives. The minister said Colour Printing Machine will be imported from Germany. He was quite displeased regarding the working conditions in the printing press. He advised the officials to send a letter to the concerned department for renovation. Moreover, the Controller Printing Press Feroz Akhter and Superintendent Faheem Qureshi expressed the difficulties they are facing.Mr. Ayaz Soomro ensured the officials that all their concerns will be addressed soon.

He also met several employees and Union's members  of the printing press. Secretary Industries Zameer Ahmed Khan presented a memento to the Ayaz Soomro.

Replying of a question Mr Rauf Siddiqui told that 500 acres forest land being setup for Larkana Industrial Zone , more then 2 billion Rupees has been estimated on the development of Infrastructure , Honorable President Mr. Asif ali Zardari give’s assurance to release that funds Soon. As the funds release and when the scheme for infrastructure development will approve by competent forum the land will be alloted to the interested Industrialists for setting up industrial units.

Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said that computerization work of SITE’s Accounts Department has started on my instructions , The Audit of SITE Ltd of the year of 2007 to 2010 will complete on the month of October and will provide for approval.

Minister of Commerce and Industries Sindh said It is not fact that any change was made in SITE Mape of the central Road entering the SITE Area from hub river road but after completion all cadal formalities a piece of land measuring 416 sq yard was regularized.         Mithi (31-May-2011) : ( PRO SITE )  Sindh Minister for Industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui has said that the Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) is making efforts to establish a network of units across the province to promote local traditional crafts for the well being of artisans/craftsmen.

According to the P.R release by the Minister Commerce and Industries office, Mr. Rauf Siddiqui was Speaking to journalists at the inauguration ceremony of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai colony and workshops for artisans Mithi on Monday, he said the projects consisted of 100 residential quarters, 100 workshops, 25 shops, a display centre, a dispensary, a primary school and parks for the craftsmen of Thar. They can live a dignified life and practice their craft in workshops.

He said that facilities were being provided to them free of cost through a draw in transparent manner to help end their joblessness.

“Establishment of the display centre for handicrafts and other items at the artisans colony at Mithi would provide one window facility to exporters and people visiting Thar to directly interact with craftsmen. This facility would end the role of middlemen who had been exploiting these poor people,” he said.

The Minister said a small industrial estate was also being established over 50 acres near Mithi at the cost of Rs38.471 million to establish 72 small units. He said the project was expected to be completed by 2013 and so far the Sindh government had released Rs2.170 million for it.

Earlier, the draw was held to allot houses and shops to craftsmen/craftswomen.

Rauf Siddiqui Order to complete Audit of SITE Ltd without any Delay.

        Karachi (10-May-2011) : ( PRO SITE )  Minister for Commerce and Industries Sindh Mr. Rauf Siddiqui expressed his serious concern over the inordinate delay in finalization of the Audit work for the period.2008-09-10, despite his repeated instructions in this behalf. He stated that the accounts of SITE Limited were not audited for last many years when he took-over charge and therefore he ordered to revamp and re structure Audit Wing of SITE Limited to establish financial discipline keeping in with the best corporate practices.

Mnister for Industries & Commerce Sindh Mr. M. A Rauf Siddiqui convened the meeting of Finance Committee of SITE Limited to review the progress of audit of account of SITE Limited, in his office on 09.05.2011. Mr. Arshad Tanveer Member Finance Committee, Mr. Abdul Wahab Lakhani Chairman Site Association of Trade & Industries, Mr. Zameer Ahmed Khan Secretary Industries & Commerce, Mr, Rasheed Solangi Managing Director SITE Limited. Mr. Rauf Siddiqui said appointment of Auditors also had not been finalize which caused unnecessary speculation. His instruction to debit the dues etc to personal accounts of the concerned ones had not been implemented in letter and sprit. He exhorted the participants and particularly the concerned officers to be vigilant in the matter and prepare , finalize all the account to date and submit the same for audit without further loss of time and keep him regularly apprized in the matter.

SITE’s Final Deadline to Defaulter Govt & Private Organizations

        Karachi (21-Apr-2011) : ( PRO SITE ) Sindh Industrial Trading & Estates( SITE) Ltd are facing financial trouble in interior Sind’s Estates, More then 30 Millions Rupess Dues on different Government and Private Organizations including Wapda ,  Food Department and PTCL only in Sukkur Estate. SITE Authority give’s Final Deadline to the Defaulter Government and Private Organizations to  clear their dues with in a month otherwise stern legal action would be taken against them.         Karachi (20-Apr-2011) : ( PRO SITE ) Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ebad and Provincial Minister for Commerce & Industries Mr. Rauf Siddiqui has inaugurated construction work of Habib Bank flyover project which has been started at SITE area Karachi on 20th April 2011.Governor Ishrat ul Ebad announced the flyover’s Name attribute with the name of loving daughter of the founder of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain . This was suggested by the Chairman Site Association Mr. Abdul Wahab Lakhani, Mr. Arshad Vohra, Zubair Moti wala and other Industrialists. P&D Department has approved 540 Million Rupees for the project, this project will try to complete with in 4 months if funds will not stopped, it is a double road fly-over which is 2,000 fit long and 48 fit wide. SITE Authorities have announced traffic diversion plan during the construction work. The project will complete under the supervision of SITE staff and consultants. The construction work will be continue day and night. SITE’s engineering section intimated to the KESC, PTCL, SSGC, Water Board and other Authorities for alternative measures during the construction work of fly-over. The Habib Bank fly-over project is one of the biggest projects of the City. After the completion of this project the traffic flow on Habib Bank Chowrangi will under control.

Karachi: Minister Commerce and Industries order to finally order to abolish the legal section of SITE Ltd and instructed to concerned authority to hire services of a private legal firm and adjust and officials and staff of SITE legal section to any other department.

In an urgent meeting at his office Mr. Rauf Siddiqui order to cancel all those industrial plots which were not established industries since 10 years although they have take possession of these plots on the condition of the establish industries .Land grabbers are the big hurdle in industrial development in the province, we will not accept any pressure in this purpose, he instructed to the authority take serious legal action against land grabbers in industrial zone with the help of Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police. He said to the official and employee to perform there duties honestly, if any one found guilty in corruption he will terminate from the service and strength legal action will take against him.

Sindh industry zones to get Rs250m each to develop estates: Rauf

KARACHI ( 10-Feb-2011 ): Sindh Minister for Industry and Trade M. Rauf Siqqiqui has said that Rs 250 million each will be given to the industrial zones in Karachi through Sindh Industrial and Trading Estate Limited (SITE) which is a government organisation, to develop and manage industrial estates in the province.

He announced that security walls would be constructed around all the industrial estates of Karachi. Besides, separate police stations would be set up and special force would be deployed in all these estates.

M. Rauf Siddiqui said this during a meeting with members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) here at the Federation House on Wednesday.

According to him, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved Rs one billion as matching grant for infrastructure upgradation and development in the four industrial estates of the city and the amount will be received by the Sindh Government soon.

Sindh Ministry of Industry and Trade has demanded Rs two billion more for development of other industrial estates of the province that is, Nooriabad, Kotri, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Larkana, the Minister said.

The Minister was welcomed at FPCCI by Acting President FPCCI, S. Khalid Tawab, Leader of Businessmen Panel at FPCCI and former president FPCCI Tariq Sayeed and Vice President FPCCI, M. Dawood Jakhura. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan was also present.

Rauf Siddiqui said that Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director of SITE Limited have travelled to Hyderabad to allot 37 industrial plots there on the recommendation of Hyderabad Association of Trade and Industry (HCCI) to ensure that land is in the hands of genuine industrialists who are serious in setting up industries instead of doing real estate business.

Bringing country out of current crisis: Rauf for consultations with stakeholders

KARACHI  ( 09-Feb-2011 ) : Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce M. A. Rauf Siddiqui has emphasised on the need of preparing short and long term economic policies in consultation with all the stakeholders for bringing the country out of prevailing economic crisis. Speaking at a meeting of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and later talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that the country was facing serious economic crisis.

He said that country needed to create more jobs to absorb young generation passing out from universities and collects. This gap between jobs and unemployed youth can only be filled with mass industrialisation, he opined. Rauf Siddiqui said that the investors needed safety and security of life, property and their investment. He further said that the government was making efforts to improve law and order situation and construct walls around all industrial estates in the province to protect and provide safe working environment to industrialists.

He pointed out that construction of wall around Site Industrial Estate was initiated with the co-operation of industrials and Rs 50,000 contribution by each industry. However, the work has been stopped due lack of funds, he added He advised industrialists to contribute Rs 50,000 per industry so that the work could be initiated around all the five industrial estates of the city.

Recalling a meeting with Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik and industrialists, he said that in the meeting it was decided that all the five industrial estates of the city would have separate police station managed by SSP and DSP to deal with law and order issues of the industrial estates. He said that work on the plan was underway. The Minister once again warned allottees of plots in different industrial estates to utilise these otherwise these would stand cancelled.

Some of the industrial plots were allotted some 10 years ago but were still unutilised. He announced that in future industrial plots would not be auctioned. Rauf Siddiqui announced establishment of a complaint cell at Site Limited. Complaint can be lodged through e-mail or fax and secretary industries and director industries have to look into the complaints and addressed it.

The Minister informed that water supply project of Nooriabad had been completed and hoped that availability of water would help boost industrialisation there. President KCCI, Saeed Shafiq emphasised on the need to resolve the internal and external problems impeding the wheels of industry. He noted that high cost of doing business, deteriorating law and order situation and power and gas crisis are some of the problems hindering the industrial and trade activities in the city

President approves Rs1b for industrial zones

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved Rs1 billion development funds for four industrial zones of Karachi. The funds will be released to development companies of these industrial zones in 10 days.

Speaking to industrialists at the Federation House on Wednesday, Provincial Minister for Trade and Industries Rauf Siddiqui said that the federal government is planning to release Rs2 billion for the Sindh Industrial and Trading Estate (SITE).

He said that improvement in law and order was essential for promotion of trade and investment after the situation became grave due to the Shershah incident. He said that a complaint cell had been set up in SITE to handle the situation, by registering and reporting threats made on phone to industrialists.

Siddiqui said that Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik had promised to create a special force for the security of industrial areas of Karachi and added that there had been substantial progress on the issue.

He also said that reformed general sales tax (RGST) should be levied on landlords and sugar mafia, not only on industrialists, as the burden of more taxes on people already in the tax bracket was unjust.

SITE transformation subject to appropriate funds

Hyderabad—Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) will be completely transformed within a year if adequate funding is allocated in the next budget for its development. “Schemes worth Rs 300 million for reconstruction of roads and improvement of drainage system have been approved and sent to the Provincial Planning and Development Commission.”

Managing Director SITE Abdul Rasheed Solangi informed this Wednesday while addressing a reception hosted in his honour at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI).

He said Provincial Industries Minister Rauf Siddiqui wants to reinforce the SITE on modern lines and certain initiatives were also being taken in that regard.

The MD asked the President of HCCI and the businesses community to use their good offices for obtaining funds for the development of the industrial estate. Solangi also constituted a committee on a demand of HCCI President Seth Goharullah which was tasked to pursue the completion of projects initiated under the government’s short term policy for development of the SITE areas. He also sought recommendations from the business community outlining provision of lacking facilities in the industrial estate.—APP

          SITE General Body rejects property tax notice of CDGK

Karachi (20-Jan-2011) : ( PRO SITE ) The General Body of Sindh Industrial Trading Estate Ltd (SITE) refuses the property tax notices released by the City District Government Karachi to industrialists of Karachi. General Body decided to take up this matter with officials of department of Local Body for solution.

Annual General Body session of SITE was held at local hotel where private members of SITE Board of Directors was elected unopposely. Mr. Arshad Tanveer, Mr. Abdullah Rafi, Mr. Arshad Vohra, Mr. Siraj Qasim Taili, Mr. Mazar-ul-Haq and Mr. Khalid Mehmood are new private members of SITE Board of Directors.

The General Body of SITE Ltd said in a statement that the property tax notices release by City Government unjustified, provide of industrial Land and infra structure development and utilities are basic responsibility of SITE Authority, there is no legal interference of any other Authority on industrial areas of Karachi. SITE Ltd are performing these responsibilities properly in limited resources, industrialists of Karachi are unable to pay property tax in recent crises situation.

Three Years Audit of SITE Ltd was presented to approval in General Body session, industrialists of SITE Karachi shows there concern on deteriorated condition of roads in SITE Karachi.

Rauf Siddiqui Ordered to remove illegal hydrants and water connections in Industrial Zones

SindH Govt Handed over 500(five Hundred) acre land for Establishment Larkana Industrial Zone.

Licenes of  Sugar mills recoked

Sindh Ministry for Trade and Industry has cancelled the no-objection certificate (NOC’s) For eight sugar mills who failed to set up units in the agreed period of time. Rauf Siddiqui ordered to industries to established effluent treatment plants.

Karachi (11-Nov-2010) : ( IT ) The Sindh Ministry for trade and industry has cancelled the no-objection certificates (NOC’s) for eight sugar mills who failed to set up units in the agreed period of time.

These mills had acquired NOC’s but did not establish sugar units even after five years.The provincial government has also asked sugar mills who recently acquired NOC’s to complete their units within two years otherwise their NOC’s wills also be cacelled by the government.

The decisions have been taken in the backdrop of the sugar crisis as the commodity’s prices hit record highs. Sindh Minister for trade and Rauf Siddiqui took this decision in a meeting conducted on Wednesday.

The Ministers also issued notices to industries to set up effluent treatment plants within three months as directed by the Supreme Court. Rauf Siddiqui warned industries that the government will take stern steps against those who, despite repeated requests, fall short in curbing environmental pollution.

Land grabbers have also been threatening industrialists and land developers in recently allotted industrial land in Hyderabad, Karachi and other cities of Sindh, said Rauf Siddiqui, adding that the government has made up its mind to clear out land grabbers.

The  Minister asked the officials of Sindh Industrial Trading Estates (Site) Limited to increase the pace of major industrial development projects such as the water supply to the Nooriabad industrial area from Kangher Lake. He urged officials to complete the project by January 2010.

Furthermore, Rauf Siddiqui asked the managing director and chief engineer of SITE Limited to monitor the progress of development projects in the province’s industrial area. He also demanded officials to report to him about the industrial development project in Nooriabad and Kotri, Hyderabad before Eidul Azha.

The meeting was informed that owing to limited funds, major industrial projects in Sindh have been delayed. The Minister then asked the Sindh Secretary for trade and industry to negotiate for funds with the ministry of finance.

Lawlessness major hurdle in new investment: Rauf Sidiqui

Karachi (24-Sep-2010): Sindh Minister for Commerce and Industries Rauf Siddiqui has said though industrialists and overseas investors are interested to invest in the country but the lawlessness does not let them do so.

Addressing a ceremony of Sindh Small Industries Corporation here on Monday, the Minister said industry is our future, adding, the future of our youth could be saved with the development of industry in Sindh.

The Minister asked the industrialists and traders to inform him or high ups of police if someone demands extortion from them.

Rauf Siddiqui said President Zardari had announced to set up an industrial zone in Larkana some 8 to 9 month ago, adding Rs.1.25 billion was demanded for the project that was approved by the president that time, however, the work on the project could not start despite of passing nine months due to negligence of bureaucracy.

He informed that the industrial project of Nooriabad would be completed within two months.

Rauf distributes relief goods among 2,000 people

Father of the children Mr. Wali Muhammad told to the media that his 8 and 9 years old children feeds 10kg milk Daily and their weight is around 85 and 95kg, but after the disaster of floods I have lost my Buffalo in flood water therefore my children are suffering of milk. After the news on Private TV channel Minister Commerce and Industries Sindh Mr. Rauf Siddiqui sent one Buffalo to the healthy children on humanitarian grounds and gives Rs.10,000 for chara and announce Rs. 1500 allowance per month to each children. Karachi (17-Aug-2010): (PRO SITE) Sindh Minister for Commerce and Industries Muhammad Rauf Siddiqui said world aid is insufficient for flood effected, urging philanthropists and overseas Pakistanis to come forward to cope with the challenge otherwise the country would face huge crisis.

Addressing a press conference at his office on Tuesday he said Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation has donated Rs.15 million while Industry and Commerce Minister has donated Rs.3.2 million in CM Relief Fund. He said industrialist donated Rs.15 million to KKF on the appeal of chief MQM Altaf Hussain while SITE Limited, Sindh Small Industries, Directorate of Sindh and Sindh Government Press donated Rs.3.2 million to I&C Ministry. The Minister said if those who survived from flood but drought are waiting them. He lauded the Saudia Arabia for aid and Pak Army work for rehabilitation of flood effectees. Rauf Siddiqui said there could be great catastrophe if immediate aid is not provided to the flood-stricken people.

He said the Ministry of Commerce and Industries had already sent 14 trucks of relief foods and cash to the flood-hit people, he informed.
